Vicki Wilson-Jiwatram is the Upper Elementary Visual Art teacher at UNIS Hanoi, currently in her second year here. Originally from the UK, where she studied a Combined Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree and postgraduate Teaching Certificate in Primary Education, she worked in Birmingham for 3 years before beginning an International art teaching career. Over 11 years in Italy, she worked for 4 different international Elementary schools as well as in a school-gallery liaison role with the Guggenheim Foundation in Venice. Subsequently, she was an art educator and arts integration specialist in a large International School in Hong Kong for 11 years, where she also became an enthusiastic member of the Asia Region Workshops for Art Educators as both participant and presenter. Having a long-held belief and interest in the work of the UN, her passion for the Sustainable Development Goals has been a natural infusion into much of her teaching of art and arts integration over the years. She is excited to share some of the ways in which the power of art has been harnessed by the Visual Art department and its students at UNIS, Hanoi, to truly empower our young artists to see that their art can make a difference and be an agent of change for a better world.
