Kate Doré is a Middle School Science teacher who endeavors to engage students with sustainability. Kate focuses on student empowerment through both systems thinking tools and getting our “hands dirty” as scientists. She believes that, when working as scientists, the more we figure out about the world, the bigger our questions and sense of wonder gets. Kate holds a M.A. in Education, and has an educational background in neuropsychology, science education, and curriculum. She is passionate about empowering youth through systems thinking, and has supported students to use these tools as leaders across diverse platforms – from service learning leadership to organizing the Singapore ServICE Conference and the Hanoi Student Leadership Conference. When she’s not in the classroom, Kate volunteers her time with Compass Education, an educational non-profit organization that empowers youth and educators as leaders for sustainable change.
