Growing up in Georgia and Florida of the USA, Cecil completed his college years in Orlando attending earning degrees in Film Production, Organizational Behavior and finally his Masters of Arts in Teaching. With a variety of experiences he started his international career being a founding member of the International School of Dongguan in Southern China. ISD was a great experience to learn all the aspects of becoming a WASC & IB accredited school where he helped develop the Visual Arts, Drama, Film, Science and Technology programs in the school. His next role would bring him to GEMS Dubai American Academy in the UAE where he would work with a team of teachers to design an Innovation Elective (MS). The Innovation elective would be a success the first year and be pushed out to the entire Middle school the following year which was based on inquiry, project based learning and service as a combination of preparing students for CAS & taking the best parts of MYP Design Process. As an Innovation Activator, Cecil would be presenting at conferences, broadcasting student stories and finding service opportunities for students to use technology in meaningful ways to the wider Dubai community. In his final year he would also be on the GEMS Innovation & Entrepreneur committee to improve on the Global Innovation Challenge where students across all GEMS schools would find the best technological solutions for 12 global issues.
