As a violinist, I feel most at home with 18th Century technology, so imagine my surprise finding myself making a video of a colleague playing Happy Birthday blindfold, then uploading it to my online lesson, complete with screencast. Distance learning can be a time to explore those tech ideas that you have seen in PD but have not yet found a way to try; and then spread a little joy as you do it.
In this workshop, I would like to share a few ideas that I have tried over the past weeks. Ideas which have put a smile on my face and, I hope, on the faces of my students, while remaining relevant to their learning experience. Participants will be encouraged to try something new, enhancing their distance learning lessons and inviting positive engagement when our students need it most.
